M. A. Donohue and Company, Chicago

Mayne Reid titles have been noted in two of the Donohue cloth bound publisher's series. Both series have the same book formats and identical dust jackets except for the different series name on the top of the jacket’s front cover.

The Bound to Win Series had up to 100 titles. It was written by popular author’s of boys’ juvenile books including Reid, Optic, Alger, Ellis, etc. This series included five Mayne Reid titles. It was first published in a 1901 timeframe. The Reid’s all have the same format and dust jacket. 7.5” x 5”. This series ran for a number of years. The earlier Reid’s have line drawn pictorial endpapers.

I can find no advertisements for this series past 1910.

The Captain Mayne Reid Series has at least these seven titles. The format is the same as the above Bound to Win Series. I can find no advertisements for this series past 1910. I do not know any further details about this series.

Onward Series of Books
In the early 1900’s Donohue released a number of six book sets for boys. One of these contained Mayne Reid titles.

Fireside Henty Series
In a 1902 advertisement Donohue noted this 87 title series. The books were written by various well known authors of books for boys. It is unknown how many Mayne Reid titles are within this set.

M. A. Donohue & Co. also reprinted the paperback Modern Authors' Series previously published by Donohue, Henneberry, & Co. as well as the Donohue Brothers. It included three Mayne Reid titles:
