Chatterton-Peck Company, New York
This firm succeeded the Mershon Company in 1907. It printed numerous
juvenile books mostly in series form. It published “The Standard
Library” in about 1907-1908.
I have not seen a book list so it is not certain which
Mayne Reid titles are within this series. Of interest is that the cover
of the Chatterton-Peck books is similar to the G. P. Putnam Mayne Reid
books. The copyright of the one Chatterton-Peck Mayne Reid title I have
seen noted an 1896 G. P. Putnam’s Sons Copyright. Thus it is reasonable
to conclude that in addition to the known titles:
Young Voyageurs
Bush-Boys
That the Boy Hunters which was also published by G. P. Putnam’s Sons was also in this series.
