The New Moon
This monthly magazine was established in 1881 with W. B. Goodwin as
the editor. It was published in Lowell, Massachusetts. It contents were
mainly short stories, a few children’s puzzles, and miscellaneous
features mainly for the young.
It was published from 1881 until at least 1894.
I only know of one Mayne Reid contribution to this magazine. A short story called “My Christmas Moose” appeared in
the December, 1882 edition.
